My Sister Sam is an American situation comedy series that aired on CBS from 1986 to 1988.
The show tells how the life of San Francisco photographer Sam Russell is disrupted when her teenage sister Patti comes to live with her.
The original title was Taking the Town in reference to Sam's career of photographer. This was changed prior to the series debut.
The series premiered in 1986. After it achieved success on Monday nights CBS changed its schedule and moved it to Saturday night opposite NBC's successful comedy lineup.
The show's audience dwindled to one of the lowest on network TV. CBS cancelled the show mid-1988 after only half of the second season had aired.
