Freeez I.O.U is a song from 1983 by British group Freeeez, who had their peak of success around the time of this song.
The song had reached no.2 in the UK Singles Chart earlier in 1983 before reaching the top of the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart in the U.S., giving them their only chart-topping single on any chart in America. It went on to become the 20th best-selling single of 1983 in the United Kingdom. Freeez - "I.O.U." was used in the 1984 breakdance film, Beat Street. In 1986 a 12" single was released in the US on the Criminal Records label, with new remixes. Some of these Freeez remixes were given a re-release in 1987 in the UK for the Citybeat label as "I.O.U.", however, it only reached number 23 in the UK Singles Chart this time around.
