Champaign How About Us
Champaign How About Us is a 1981 hit single recorded by R&B music group Champaign and composed by band keyboardist Dana Walden.Originally released on the band's debut album of the same name, "How 'Bout Us" peaked at number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts, and of the seven charting singles conceived, the song remains the group's most successful track. The title track of their album and their first single, the tune combines instrumentals, traditional background vocals repeated multiple times, and poetic verses performed by Champaign's lead vocalist Pauli Carman to create a sound similar to other ballads released during the time.
Champaign How About Us Lyrics
Ooh, short and sweet No sense in draggin' on past our needs Let's don't keep it hangin' on If the fire's out, we should both be gone
Some people are made for each other Some people can love one another for life, how 'bout us Some people can hold it together Last through all kinds of weather, can we?
Now don't you get me wrong (what ya sayin' to me baby) 'Cause I'm not tryin' now to end it all (let's start something new) It's just that I have seen (what have you seen?) Too many lover's hearts lose their dreams (we won't lose it)
Some people are made for each other Some people can love one another for life, how 'bout us Some people can hold it together Last through all kinds of weather, can we?
How 'bout us How 'bout us, baby How 'bout us How 'bout us, baby
Aren't we gonna make it boy Are we gonna drift and drift and drift together
Some people are made for each other Some people can love one another for life, how 'bout us (how about us baby) Some people can hold it together, ...last (some people can hold it together) How 'bout us (some people)
Some people are made for each other Some people can love one another for life, how 'bout us (some people can love one another for life, how 'bout us baby) Some people can hold it together, ...last (some people can hold it together) How 'bout us
